Join our team of trusted advisors and contribute to a variety of internal audits and consulting engagements as you work with our company's IT personnel and systems. This role offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development. As an IT Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for:
* Leading various IT projects: Leading audit projects involving more complex information technology assignments including IT governance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and implementations/conversions.
* Auditing IT general controls: Ascertaining whether the company's information technology general controls (ITGC) and application controls are properly designed and operating effectively.
* Performing consulting engagements: Work on a variety of consulting engagements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes across the organization.
* Functioning as a subject matter expert: As a subject matter expert for IT risk and controls, you will provide guidance and recommend improvements to strengthen information technology, information security and operational controls and business processes.
* Developing data analytics: Developing data analytics for internal audit. This includes data analytic projects and continuous monitoring techniques executed with consistency and overall strategy, policy and procedures of the company.
* Acquisition Projects: Review internal controls, processes, and integrations after newly acquired companies implement Knife River Company systems and processes.
* External Reporting: Audit information reported externally, such as our Proxy and Sustainability Reports.
* Risk Assessments: Perform comprehensive risk assessments.
* Collaboration: Coordinate with and interview personnel across the company.
* Data Analysis: Analyze complex data to support your findings.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree, preferably in information technology; or computer science, information security, management information systems, cybersecurity, or accounting; or equivalent experience; and
* Two years' experience in information technology, data analytics, IT risk management, IT governance and controls, or auditing.
* This position is intended for individuals with information technology experience who may have worked with technology risk assessments. This position leads complex type projects with limited or very minimal supervision and works with audit leadership and others to learn concepts and ideas regarding:
oaudit procedures and techniques
oauditing standards
ointernal controls
ocompany policies and procedures
orules, regulations and laws applicable to company business activities
* Experience in IT controls assessment, IT security, internal controls, process improvement, project management, third-party vendor management, or quality assurance.
* Experience in extracting, handling, mining, and querying data; including large and/or complex data sets.
* Advanced knowledge of systems and databases such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Oracle, Windows, Active Directory, Linux, AS400.
* Certification as an Internal Auditor (CIA), Public Accountant (CPA) or Fraud Examiner (CFE), or various IT certifications are a plus.
* Advanced knowledge of common frameworks such as CMMC, NIST, ISO, CIS Security Controls
* Maintains ongoing awareness of current and new information about security technologies, trends, vulnerabilities, and threats.
* Ability to describe findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize to successfully meet deadlines.
* Advanced communication skills (written and oral) are essential.
* Ability to interact well with various levels of personnel within and outside the company.
* Ability to work effectively on own or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of corporate information.
