Salary: Per Negotiated Agreement

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in social worker, mental health/clinical counselor, or family studies with BCBA certification preferred.
  • Three or more years experience working with students with children with significant social emotional deficits.
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professional presence during stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to analyze data and write reports.
  • Ability to collaborate with parents, school personnel and outside agency providers.

Purpose and Overall Duties:

The Child Behavioral Health Specialist will serve on a multi-disciplinary team to provide assistance with the implementation of PBIS, social-emotional learning standards and provide staff coaching specific to classroom behavior supports for children identified as needing tier 1 and 2 social emotional supports. Will work with families to understand the nature of behavior and how it impacts a child's ability to learn, and promotes collaboration between the family, school personnel and outside agency providers, when applicable.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Must have understanding of the PBIS foundation as it applies to schools.
  2. Must have experience coaching parents, staff and students about basic classroom management, individualized support for the social emotional needs for students and carry over in the home.
  3. Must have the ability to develop, implement and monitor lesson plans specific to the Ohio Department of Education Social- Emotional learning standards for students with significant social emotional deficits.
  4. Must have the ability to collaborate with school personnel, parents, and outside agency providers.
  5. Must be able to communicate in writing and orally with parents, staff and outside agency providers.
  6. Must be able to navigate staff, students and parents through students heightened responses to negative situations.
  7. Must have experience providing direct support to students with significant social emotional deficits.
  8. Must have experience and general knowledge about collecting, and using data to make decisions to support the social emotional needs of students with significant social emotional deficits.
  9. Must maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
