Join our team as we search a Convention Center Sales Manager aimed at propelling new meeting and event business into the heart of Tacoma and Pierce County. Your mission will be to actively sell and promote Greater Tacoma Convention Center (GTCC) event space, forge meaningful client connections, strategize for success, make your mark at events, and nurture relationships that last. This position will target the Association, Fraternal, Hobby, Social, Society, and Union markets planning events more than 15 months out,.

Responsibilities:

Proactively engage potential clients, showcasing lodging and meeting options to spark lead generation. Enhance client relationships and meet revenue goals with strategic sales efforts and personalized follow-ups.

Influence our annual sales strategy, adapting to market trends and seizing opportunities for growth.

Deliver exceptional service, consistently exceeding client expectations in every interaction.

Represent GTCC at industry events, expanding our network and elevating our visibility.

Coordinate flawless service and accommodations, ensuring memorable experiences for all groups.

Lead engaging tours of GTCC, highlighting our premier facilities and services.

Skillfully negotiate and present proposals, driving successful deals with clarity and confidence.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Convention/conference/trade center or related field experience.

Prior Convention Center or Hotel sales experience.

Ability to travel extensively and work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of the hospitality industry. sales, marketing, public relations, and social media.

Exceptional sales, communication, and presentation skills.

Proficient in computer use and adaptable to new technologies.

Valid Washington State driver's license and vehicle.

Ability to pass a criminal background and reference check per company policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, sales, communication, hospitality, or a related field
