Our Hotel, a renowned brand with over 69 years of service, is seeking a Chief Engineer to take over the maintenance department. As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the entire hotel facility. This includes managing the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct visual and physical assessments of the hotel's physical structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and other related equipment to ensure safe and efficient maintenance and operation.
- Hands on work is needed when the size of the team small or if you are by yourself.
- Take care of the routine maintenance and repairs for public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, and back-of-the-house areas.
- Run the maintenance department, including Engineers, Painters, Carpenters, Plumbers, Upholsterers, and Grounds Keepers.
- Provide regular updates to the General Manager and department heads regarding the condition of the building structure, systems, and equipment, along with cost-effective proposals for maintenance.
- Adhere to budgets, purchasing policies, and controls, including outside contractor bids and schedules.
- Maintain effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs.
- Maintain adequate supply of materials and equipment for day-to-day operating and maintenance requirements.
- Establish organized administrative and filing systems for efficient handling of correspondence, reports, and requisitions.
- Manage inventory, maintenance, and storage of tools, products, materials, and equipment.
- Be available to report to the hotel in the event of any emergency requiring the skills and expertise of the Chief Engineer.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities as required by management.
- Competitive salary ranging from $30,000 to $50,000 per year or you could work on Hourly basis.
- Benefit package including paid time off, $200 a month paid toward your insurance and Cellphone bill, and employee discounts.
