Job Summary

Join our team of healthcare heroes as a Labor and Delivery Float Registered Nurse. As an Inpatient RN, you will provide care to patients during surgery and meet the qualifications to care for patients of all ages in your assigned unit. You'll play an essential role in making a difference in the lives of those who rely on us each day.

Job Duties
  • Coordinate surgery schedules and arrival of patients in the surgical suite.
  • Actively participate in surgical timeouts and communicate with family representatives to allay concerns.
  • Direct and coordinate nursing activities within assigned operating room and supervise ancillary personnel.
  • Follow surgical procedures to anticipate surgeon needs; observe, interpret, document and report signs indicative of changes in a patient's condition; and maintain technology.
  • Prepare and maintain all medicine and technical advanced equipment to minimize failures and unsafe conditions.
  • Clean, sterilize (when appropriate), and prepare instruments according to established protocols to ensure required levels of asepsis and availability.
  • Assure proper handling of contaminated material, provide for accurate care and handling of specimens and cultures, and count sponges, needles and instruments, per policy.
  • Assist in the cleaning and preparation of the OR between procedures and maintain effective communication with team members.
  • Assist with orientation, in-service programs, and supervising students and actively participate in the development and maintenance of an effective quality improvement program.
  • Safeguard patients from dangers and hazards and operate sterilizers as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with the system policies and procedures, all nursing standards of care and practice, to include all regulatory agency requirements.

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)

Certification(s) and License(s)

Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body

Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
