Job Highlights

The Mold Setter is responsible for supporting shift production by setting and maintaining molds, as well as support equipment. The position works closely with other departments to ensure customers’ demands are met at the highest level of quality. Mold Setter provides back up and support to the Production Supervisor, and other production positions

Job Summary & Requirements

JOB DUTIES

· Set up, operate, and monitor plastic injection mold machines to meet production requirements.

· Ensure mold is properly set for operation.

· Process and adjust presses following SOP to confirm products are meeting the quality standard.

· Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on molds, machines and auxiliary equipment.

· Maintain and fix axillary equipment.

· Follow all Safety Procedures including but not limited to: Lock Out / Tag Out, Crane Inspection, Housekeeping.

· Complete all paperwork and checklist.

· Document all activities, regarding equipment setting, parameters and issues.

· Maintain a clean and organized press area following the 6 standards.

· Assist in the training and supervision of hourly personnel.

· Performs supervisory duties that include paperwork and labor utilization. This does not include addressing any personnel issues beyond standard work assignments. Personnel issues must be directed to a Supervisor or Operations / Plant Manager...

· This is not all inclusive and the employee will be required to perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Mechanical /technical training a plus

EXPERIENCE

· 2+ years of processing and mold setting experience in plastic injection molding.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSA’s):

· Detail oriented individual with good mechanical aptitude who can troubleshoot issues and problems solve.

· Cross-functional team player who can support supervisor in meeting production requirements and provide back up to other positions as needed.

· Good communication skills, both written and verbal

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Understanding of safety practices.

· Ability to learn technical topics and procedures.

· Must be flexible to work any shift and split shift for appropriate coverage.
