Timely communicates to other members of the health care team information crucial to patient’s health Educating patient on their disease process and maintains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice Assuring continuity of care Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being Professional Practice: Evaluates one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations and engages in lifelong learning Medication refills: Under the provider’s direction and/or using established and approved protocols, initiates requests for new medications or refills Collaboration: Uses the elements and principles of Relationship-Based Care and the unique aspects of diversity to collaborate with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice Assist the Dermatologist with outpatient and surgical dermatology procedures Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients who are undergoing treatment for a variety of skin conditions and diseases Assist with procedures using specialized medical equipment, including cosmetic dermatology Perform wound care and be familiar with many types of dressings, topical medications, and wound care routines Other duties as assigned but only after appropriate training _QUALIFICATIONS:_ Minimum Qualifications: * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing * Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota Preferred Qualifications: * One year of Nursing experience * Current Dermatology Certification (or willing to obtain within 12 months of hire date) * BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
