Job Summary: The Manager-Radiology (MRI) leads multiple locations, technologists and ancillary personnel. Regulates scheduling of personnel, work assignments, call schedule and repair of equipment as necessary. Participates in rotational weekend leadership as required. Initiatives and exercises discretion and independent judgment. Inspires and motivates staff based on supervisory skills and abilities. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program (or specialty program related to assigned area) required. Bachelor's Degree in related field from a nationally recognized accrediting organization required or enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program (must provide annual progress reports). Minimum three years of Radiology experience required. Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of State/Federal regulations. Broad knowledge of quality, patient safety, performance improvement, regulatory requirements, medical staff structure, peer review and legal aspects of care. Knowledge of quality, performance improvement and patient safety programs that are data-driven. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Required licensure and certification is dependent upon area of specialty/responsibility which includes: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT), Fluoroscopy, Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), National License from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). Advanced certification from ARRT: Mammography (M), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Nuclear Medicine (N) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) preferred. Additional specialty licensure preferred as applicable. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required. Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.
