Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Emergency Room (ER) team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a critical role in delivering quality care to patients in need of urgent medical attention.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients presenting in the Emergency Room.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Formulate and implement appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.
- Perform patient follow-up regarding late abnormal results and care coordination
- Perform procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, and other minor surgical interventions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and ECGs.
- Provide patient education regarding their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Adhere to established protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant in North Dakota
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an Emergency Room preferred, however we are open to training new graduates who fit with our team
- Proficiency in conducting medical assessments, diagnosing acute conditions, and managing emergent medical situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments under pressure.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care and advocacy for patients and their families.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- ACLS, ATLS, NRP and PALS completion required during first year of employment
