Position Summary:
The University of Dayton, a top-tier Catholic research university, seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our School of Education and Health Sciences (SEHS) division as a Data Specialist. This critical role will play a pivotal part in supporting the University's mission of serving others and transforming communities through education and research. Under the general supervision of the School of Education and Health Sciences (SEHS) Associate Dean of Accreditation & Diversity, the position of Data Specialist collects, aggregates, organizes and reports data while also managing various data systems and processes that support SEHS. This essential role will develop, analyze, interpret, coordinate access, retrieval, compilation, and dissemination of data analysis and communicate reports for internal and external customers. The Data Specialist maintains the Anthology assessment systems for benchmark assignments, assessment rubrics aligned to professional standards used for accreditation at both the state and national levels, and provides training and monitoring of Anthology for faculty and students.

Job Duties include:
1) Data Management: Coordinate the collection, aggregation, organization, and reporting of SEHS data, particularly as they relate to assessment and accreditation requirements. Design, develop and establish user friendly, database driven processes that facilitate the distribution and use of learning performance and benchmark data to the university community and external reviewers.

2) Data Analysis: Access and manage submissions to state and national assessment reporting sites and performance metric reporting systems. Monitor, submit, and provide data to SEHS, the UD community, and additional pertinent stakeholders.

3) Accreditation Support and Annual Reporting: The position will work with the Associate Dean and across the Unit to monitor and support accreditation needs and annual reporting

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years of related experience such as data analysis, assessment, accreditation or continuous improvement.
• Proficient skill with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word; PDF management/editing; Google tools and database applications (Drive, Sheets, Docs).
• Experience communicating and interpreting various sources of information in a collaborative environment.
• Successful experience managing data systems, creating reports and
processing improvement protocols.
• Professional experience with database operations and reporting within an ERP such as Cognos or Banner.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain
positive relationships and engender trust among internal and external stakeholders.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills, as evidenced by prior experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
• Master's degree.
• 2 or more years of recent professional experience related to assessment and/or accreditation and/or quality management; database management and external reporting; continuous improvement.
• Recent (within 2 years) successful experience with HTML, PHP, SQL, MS Office suite certifications.
• Proficiency with higher education software platforms including Anthology, Cognos, Isidore, Canvas, Banner, or DegreeWorks.
• Advanced skill with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word; PDF management/editing; Google tools and database applications (Drive, Sheets, Docs).
• Professional experience serving in a similar role at a university or college, with preference given to candidates whose background include a demonstrated understanding of accreditation and continuous improvement.
