Job Purpose
IT Specialists help solve technical problems. They are responsible for installing and upgrading system components, setting up software for employees, resolving IT and hardware issues and assisting in network administration. You will be responsible for installing or upgrading components, setting up software, assisting with network administration, and resolving all IT support issues.
To be successful as an IT specialist, you should have an in-depth knowledge of various computer hardware and software technologies. Top candidates will also have an amiable personality and an aptitude for customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinating the needs of in-house IT experts and remote employees, vendors and contractors.
- Installing, configuring and monitoring wireless network systems.
- Creating, analyzing, reporting, converting and transferring data through systems using application software.
- Regularly evaluating our IT systems to ensure they meet the necessary demands.
- Assisting with network administration tasks.
- Ensuring data storage is safe and secure.
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of our computer network.
- Collects data by identifying sources of information and designing survey and collection methods.
- Resolves retrieval problems by altering design to meet requirements.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Provides clients with information by designing methods to collect and retrieve data.
- Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions.
- Maintains historical records by documenting system changes and revisions.
- Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Establishes and revises database by conferring with analysts and programmers to code and retrieve data.
- Maintains database by entering data.
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering.
- Minimum of five years of experience in IT or database administration.
- Experience working with following environments: Mac OS, Windows 10 & Windows Server 2008+ operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange / Office 365, Network Storage, Azure, KACE 1000.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting various technical equipment such as laptops, video conferencing systems, mobiles, etc.
- Working knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, Bash, Java, etc.)
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication ability, both written and verbal.
- Personable, professional demeanor.
