SUMMARY

Pratt Paper (KY), LLC has a need for a Water Reclamation Engineer at its new Henderson, KY location. Pratt Industries is building a twin headbox 1200 TPD paper machine for making linerboard and corrugating medium in addition to a process waste water pretreatment facility.

SCOPE

The Water Reclamation Engineer will work independently and as part of the production team to support production efforts of the paper mill. The Water Reclamation Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the management of all process waste water systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

The Water Reclamation Engineer's primary responsibilities prior to and during start up include, but are not limited to:
  • Become familiar with all equipment and processes necessary to successfully pretreat process waste water from the mill.
  • Understand the installation and operation of all systems associated with the waste water pretreatment facility.
  • Participate in the commissioning of the waste water pretreatment systems
  • Participating in supplier negotiations for biomass, chemicals and services that will be required to support the successful operation of the waste water pretreatment facility.
After startup, the Water Reclamation Engineer's primary responsibilities as part of the mill operational team include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining safety standards in and around the Waste Water Facility
  • Maintaining chemical inventories
  • Maintaining chemical delivery systems
  • Determining, reporting and optimizing costs
  • Performing process control laboratory analyses
  • Collecting and tracking compliance samples and equipment
  • Maintaining process control and permit compliance data
  • Interface with E&I and maintenance departments to insure proper corrective and preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment
  • Monitoring, maintaining and reporting Air and Water Permitting

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The educational requirements are a four (4) year Bachelor of Science in one of the following disciplines:

Pulp and Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Environmental Science or a related field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The candidate must speak and write English at a college level.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The candidate must be able to understand and use simple conversions and algebraic formulas.

REASONING ABILITY

The candidate must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and biological systems.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Waste Water Pretreatment Facility is comprised of tanks and processes both outside and within a process control building. Laboratory facilities and computer workspace are within the process control building. Work will be conducted both inside and outside, year round in all types of weather typical to this region.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

Employee will be measured on the performance goals established by Water Reclamation Manager and Mill Manager.

SALARY COMPENSATION

Water Reclamation Engineers will be Salaried Non-Exempt (qualify for overtime above 40 hrs./week)

Starting Base Salary: $50,000/yr. (Based on 2080 hrs)

There is built-in overtime with the schedule

Mill Incentive Program: Monthly maximum of 33.3% of Base Salary (Paid Quarterly)

Total Compensation: Ability to earn $80,000.00+ per year with base salary, overtime, and incentive plan
