Our client, a renowned financial media company based in NYC, is looking to fill the role of Art Director. They excel in delivering high-quality assignments across print, digital, environmental, interactive, and broadcast projects. Their in-house marketing team is known for its hands-on approach to concept development and execution of brand systems. The team operates on a global scale, driving projects both internally and externally. We are seeking a self-starting, hands-on conceptual contract designer to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring original ideas and a fresh, stylish approach to each project, taking ownership from start to finish. They should have experience developing visual identities, implementing them into marketing campaign assets, and translating them into environmental elements for events and experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute original design concepts across multi-channel campaigns.
- Collaborate with copywriting resources and other art directors globally.
- Lead the design and art direction of large-scale branding efforts, cohesive campaigns, and content marketing.
- Oversee the development of brand guidelines, style guides, and toolkits.
- Ensure consistency of visual identity and design with the brand's architecture in mind.
- Demonstrate strong digital design skills, including digital marketing, website development, mobile web, mobile apps, and micro content.
- Apply current digital design and UX/UI best practices.
- Work closely with developers and printers to see projects through to production.
- Communicate effectively to interpret complex creative briefs and present ideas.
- Proof tactical execution for the design team and sign off on final assets.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and managing Figma, with experience in creative workflow management.
- Familiarity with Asana and Google Drive is a plus.
- Knowledge of print production and digital prepress processes.
- Proven track record as both an individual contributor and key team member.
- Strong visual concept delivery skills aligned with defined strategies and copy approaches.
- A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in typography, photography, digital, and color management.
- Experience in industrial and environmental design, motion graphics, interaction design, art direction, and directing shoots is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in a similar role within a company or agency. Exceptional candidates with a strong creative portfolio may be considered with fewer years of experience.
- BA/BS degree required, preferably in Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media Design, Fine or Commercial Arts, Art Design, or a related field.
- Thorough understanding of print and collateral design, production processes, and interactive communications and delivery systems, along with industry best practices.
- Strong client communication skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
