THE OPPORTUNITY

Michelin has an immediate opening in Spartanburg, South Carolina for aSenior Software Engineerwho will design, develop, and industrialize software solutions and applications to support Michelin's ambitions.This person will work towards improving efficiency and the quality of work life by reducing manual efforts and analyzing and reporting on the data.

Located in Spartanburg, our plant has been part of the community for over 40 years. Spartanburg offers a great mix of city and country life, with its walkable downtown area and great places to eat. It is located near Greenville, which also offers great living amenities and an international airport. Our facility is home to the X ONE long haul truck tire. We also build heavy duty truck, military, and other large truck tires for our customers.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high quality and secure solutions (software and non-functional requirements) that create business value, provide a great user experience, and are easy to maintain and operate.
  • Validate/Deploying global solutions developed in other countries by contributing to functional testing, change management, documentation, communication, and training.
  • Maintain and optimize a working solution by evaluating proposed changes, making improvement recommendations, implementing approved changes.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

  • A willingness/ability to provide on-call support or deployment work outside of normal work hours and weekends, as needed.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in programming/coding in languages like HTML5, C#, O365 Power Platform, and JavaScript is preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to work with others to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful functional specifications.
  • Demonstrates daily Agile & Lean values like cooperation, transparency, courage, and humility to foster teamwork.
  • Prior experience in supporting Information Systems (IS) operations in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
