POSITION PURPOSE

As an integral team member of MercyOne Population Health Services Organization (PHSO), the Value-Based Care (VBC) Performance Analyst provides coordination, guidance and analytical support for population health business development, clinical, financial management, quality/performance excellence and strategic planning initiatives, and operational systems. This role works in coordination with operations, analytics, care management and clinic leadership on improving value-based care and contract performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares PHSO performance reporting and information needed to support decision-making, performance monitoring and planning, including standard reporting packages to leadership.

  • Drills down in data to identify performance trends and root causes, to support the implementation of performance improvement opportunities.

  • Structures and compiles data and information to support population health improvement strategies, PHSO quality and financial targets and related activities.

  • Responsible for working in collaboration with peers, customers, information technology and vendors, providing assistance with the analysis design, validation, implementation, documentation and maintenance of all population health data.

  • Coordinates payer-related deliverables and deadlines with PHSO stakeholders (e.g., supplemental data, other requirements, etc)

  • Coordinates payer performance meetings and action items.

  • Maintains ‘Subject Matter Expert’ status for all statewide value based contracts, including contract terms, performance, payer reports, data, etc.

  • Supports and coordinates escalation of issues to payers.

  • Supports the tracking/distribution of all value based payer payments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Accounting/Finance, Business or Healthcare Administration, Business Intelligence, Health Informatics, Mathematics/Statistical Process Control, Information Technology/Computer Science, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.

Experience: Two years of relevant experience required.

Licensure or Certification: N/A

Knowledge & Skills:

Financial, quality and/or statistical analytics. Project management & process improvement methodology. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel required. Microsoft Powerpoint and data visualization experience strongly preferred. Experience with data loads, data manipulation & analysis, databases, spreadsheets, report writing applications, decision support & statistical software. Experience with population health and value-based contracts strongly preferred. Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to pass a pre-employment health and drug screening at time of hire. Occasionally required to stand or walk. Frequently required to sit in a stationary position. Occasionally performs activities that require stooping, bending and reaching, squatting, balancing, and trunk twisting throughout the day. Frequently able to detect and discern both loud and soft sounds such as phone calls and customer questions. Constantly able to use hands and fingers to type, write, and file. Frequently able to use near vision for viewing computer monitor and written materials. Occasionally required to detect unusual odors that could indicate environmental issues. Must be able to travel to the various MercyOne sites as needed. Must possess the ability to comply with MercyOne policies and procedures.
