Job Description

Johnson County Facilities Department is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Warehouse Support I.

Posting will remain open until filled. Job duties include a variety of tasks including the following:

  • Tracks stocking levels for Personal Protection Equipment; assists with management of surplus item dispositions; receives and stocks office, custodial, and jail supply orders.
  • Organizes materials for efficient operation and record keeping; maintains records and inventory within the inventory database; conducts periodic audits using the database and the physical inventory; insures the proper operation and up-keep of material handling equipment.
  • Assists with effective county courier services; provides daily deliveries and pick-up services; provides routine inspection of vehicles; reports needed repairs for courier vehicles; operates vehicle, making numerous stops at county building and work locations; follows safety and security procedures while in buildings and in operation of vehicle.
  • Sorts, loads, unloads, and delivers mail, packages, supplies, materials, and surplus items throughout the county; provides excellent customer service; operates a two-wheeled hand truck; answers simple questions about deliveries; provides support for specialty projects.


Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

High school and two years relevant experience required. Experience may be subsituted for degree.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals
  • Exposure to heights
  • Exposure to loud noises
  • Lifting weight: 50 lbs
  • All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
