Somerville YMCA is looking for great individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of the school aged children in our communities. Becoming a an After School Counselor will give you an opportunity to expand on skills you will need later on in life including leadership, communication, problem solving, and more. The Counselor will assist the Lead Counselor and will help the children with homework, create a fun and safe environment, and bring new ideas and games to the program. You will have some experience working with children and be comfortable handling difficult situations as needed. You will also have the ability to learn and think critically and quickly to handle situations as they arise.
