Salary Range: $75-$90 per hour, dependent upon certifications and experience.

Reports to: Principal

Schedule: Part-time, 16-24 hours per week

Location: Servicing 4 campuses in Detroit and Highland Park

General Description:
The Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) works to identify, assess, prevent and treat speech, language, fluency and social/cognitive communication deficits that interfere with students' ability to participate in their educational program.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments
• Evaluate students for speech and language impairments.
• Provides direct one-on-one and/or group speech and language services to eligible students.
• Develops and writes annual goals and short-term instructional objectives for students assigned to the caseload.
• Compiles and maintains records, written reports and other documentation for students assigned to the caseload.
• Acts as case manager for speech and language eligible students only.
• Provides consultation to staff and parents/guardians regarding speech and language services, including use of augmentative communication systems and devices related to the individual needs of students.
• Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families as appropriate.
• Works as a team member with instructional staff and parents/guardians to refer eligible students to outside agencies and other community resources.
• Attends and participates in Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET), Review of Existing Evaluation Data (REED) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as requested.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Michigan Speech Language Pathology License
• MI Teaching Certification with Speech Endorsement - preferred
• Certificate of Clinical Competence - preferred
