In this role, you will provide high-quality care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for both mother and baby. Your expertise and compassion will be crucial in guiding families through this important and transformative experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients during labor and delivery, including vital signs and fetal heart rates.
- Provide hands-on support and care during labor, including administering medications, assisting with deliveries, and managing pain.
- Educate patients and their families about labor processes, delivery options, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and safe delivery process.
- Document patient care accurately and maintain detailed records of labor and delivery events.
- Respond to emergencies and complications promptly, following established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment, adhering to infection control practices and hospital policies.
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred .
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex and high-stress situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
