Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Director of Fitness Operations to lead our fitness team and manage all aspects of our fitness floor. This role is crucial in ensuring a welcoming, safe, and productive environment for both our members and staff. You will be responsible for championing the ultimate fitness experience and exceeding our revenue and service goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an outstanding fitness experience for every member, ensuring satisfaction during each visit.
  • Recruit, hire, and train a professional team of fitness staff to deliver exceptional service.
  • Oversee the daily operations and programming of the fitness center.
  • Participate in overall club management activities.
  • Conduct member orientations and movement analyses to tailor their fitness journeys.
  • Provide constructive feedback and conduct formal evaluations for team members.
  • Achieve and surpass personal training sales and performance objectives.

Additional Duties:

  • Create personalized, safe, and effective fitness programs for members.
  • Prepare revenue projections for training programs and manage related expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with certification requirements for staff and maintain updated personnel files.
  • Track personal trainer scheduling, time management, and payroll details.
  • Handle billing and accounting for personal training sessions efficiently.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with the General Manager to align club objectives.
  • Report any safety issues or injuries to the General Manager promptly.
  • Regularly inspect fitness equipment and manage inventory while reporting any repair needs.
  • Facilitate communication with members regarding training schedules and requests.
  • Address member concerns or feedback within 48 hours.
  • Uphold employee conduct standards and ensure compliance with club policies and emergency protocols.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned and flexible working hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A talent for motivation and nurturing team development.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Friendly, positive disposition with a professional appearance.
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt while working collaboratively.
  • Experience in managing challenging customer interactions professionally.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, email, MS Windows).
  • Proven sales skills and ability to create effective fitness programs.

Requirements:

  • Current nationally recognized personal training certification.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in fitness management and personal training is desirable.
