Information Technology Coordinator Job Summary: Responsible for objectives, supervision, and production of the Center's computerized information system. Provides student instruction in information technology during evening and weekend programming and during the training day as directed.

Information Technology Coordinator Duties:

  • Plans, directs and controls operational and maintenance of the Computer Information System.
  • Provides Information Technology instruction to students through career development, evening and weekend studies program and other times as directed.
  • Provide transportation as needed.
  • Identifies new opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Provides technical support, expert advice, and assistance on computer challenges.
  • Reviews all logical access controls for information systems to ensure that all sensitive data (including transmissions, files, tapes, or reports) is protected.
  • Initial setup of computers includes loading operating systems, all applications that will be utilized by the end user and configuring multiple software environments on a per-user basis.
  • Tests and debugs programs and systems by analyzing to determine likely problem areas.
  • Performs necessary steps for generating and installing new software releases.
  • Upgrades hardware and software as equipment requires.
  • Provides end user training on applications including, but not limited to, e-mail, Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems, terminal sessions and emulators, imaging products, and web-based applications.
  • Develops procedures in written form for control of the Information System.
  • Acts as liaison with hardware and software vendors.
  • Acts as liaison to the Job Corps Data Center.
  • Enforces all software standards to ensure the security of data.
  • Provides necessary preventative and corrective maintenance on hardware.
  • Oversees phone system issues and repairs.
  • Ensures all computer equipment is properly maintained.
  • Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
  • Models, Mentors and Monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
  • Participates in PRH mandated staff training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the individual's scope and capabilities.


Requirements

Information Technology Coordinator Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Above average public speaking skills and experience in same; above average verbal and written skills; above average problem solving and conflict resolution skills; knowledgeable computer skills of software and hardware; exceptional working knowledge of Internet, Email, Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite.

Experience: Three (3) years computer experience preferred. Knowledgeable on MS Office, MS SQL, Citrix, Windows Operating systems, Internet Information server, Antivirus and Backup software.

Education: Associate degree in field preferred.
