Senior Financial Analyst
Job Description Summary
As a Senior Financial Analyst at AAM's Oxford Manufacturing Facility, you will be the primary consultant to the Finance Manager. This high-impact role is responsible for collecting, monitoring, and studying financial and operational data for both reporting and recommending actions based on that information.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-starting, and displays effective time management, attention to detail, and able to efficiently digest operational/financial information with firm deadlines.
Job Description
- Lead and champion weekly forecast performance vs actual estimates through financial reports, discussions with department leaders, including Purchasing, Maintenance, Materials & Quality.
- Lead and champion Sales, AR, & AP functions
- Reconcile Sales and AP transactions, independently providing corrective solutions where applicable.
- Primary champion of month-end close process including journal entry preparation, and discussions with department leads to identify accrual needs.
- Primary driver of monthly financial forecasting process.
- Perform quarterly self-assessment testing for Sarbanes Oxley.
- Champion quarterly Inventory and Financial Analytic results
- Assists in the yearly budgeting process, including activity-based costing models and part profitability analysis.
- Assist in Annual Standard Roll in ERP System (Plex).
- Supports Annual Physical Inventory Observations where needed.
- Assist and support Annual Finance for Non-Finance Personnel Classes, including presentation.
- Support with significant Ad-hoc reports & special requests from plant leadership, department leads, etc.
- Mentor Financial Co-Ops and Interns
- Support AAM Operating System Standards with understanding of Policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; in accounting or finance
- 3 - 5 years of experience within Accounting/Plant Finance
- 1+ year of experience using PLEX (or comparable Manufacturing ERP)
- Strong understanding of Accounting Transactions/Debits/Credits is critical.
- 5 - 7 Years of experience within Accounting/Plant Finance and advanced degree prefered
- Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
- Ability to apply software programs to extract data; including, but not limited to, Plex, Hyperion, Oracle, Sharepoint, Workday, and Visual Lease
- Must enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- High level of analytical ability to troubleshoot where problems are complex
- 1 year experience within an automotive, forging, or similar industry
- 1 year experience in a union environment
