Position Summary:
The Lead Product Development for Celebrity Cruises is responsible for guest journey development and detailed product definition of high-quality concepts and experiences for Celebrity Cruise guests. This position drives the product vision and strategy to various stakeholders and partners, ensuring the Celebrity Cruise experience is executed through detailed guest journey mapping, product playbook creation and integrated planning throughout Hotel Operations.
This position leads the implementation and planning of new concepts, experiences, activities, and programming for Celebrity Cruises. This person is considered the product owner and will collaborate and coordinate multiple rollout efforts on new ships, modernization efforts, private destinations, and updating existing onboard products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Product definition: Collaborates with all partners and stakeholders ensuring that the products being created for Celebrity Cruises are in line with the initial product vision and aspiration, while being viable, feasible and desirable for our guests.
- Product definition: Fosters a highly collaborative dynamic relationship across cross-functional teams and connects various disciplines from the brand, operations, and all partners to ensure a successful product.
- Product definition: Ensures that concepts are marketable, drive guest satisfaction and ultimately drive revenue.
- Product definition: Creates playbooks, executive presentations, operating procedures, and data analytics to share recommendations and updates with senior management as well as partners and stakeholders.
- Product definition: Thinks strategically to help convert concepts to reality.
- Product delivery: Responsible for the final delivery of products and experiences that are developed for Celebrity Cruises, realizing the strategic vision and bringing to life the desired experience for our guests through a defined roadmap.
- Product delivery: Understands and works within PMO / project management framework
- Product delivery: Works with Operations, Newbuild, Marketing and brand leadership to ensure proper awareness, collaboration, approvals, and planning.
- Product delivery: Works closely with operations and design teams to lead mock ups, simulations or run of show events to showcase the new product, allow opportunity for feedback and iteration.
- Product delivery: Tracks and monitors startup plans by developing training materials, SOPs or playbooks to ensure each concept/experience is flawlessly executed.
- Product standards: Defines success criteria for products and experiences and coordinates post-delivery audit of metrics and KPI.
- Operational Excellence: Support the process and governance for all guest facing product changes in line with the Operational Excellence process within Product Development.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years in a product, design or other similar role developing experiences for consumers, newbuilds, startups or similar. Product owner experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree a plus
- Experience in the hospitality, F&B, or entertainment industry a plus.
- Comfortable with a fast-paced and "startup" like environment with demanding timelines
- Experience in project management with ability to drive consensus and collaboration.
- Skilled in developing executive-level product presentations. Strong attention to detail and ability to story tell.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Very collaborative and an exemplary communicator in speech and writing
- Highly organized. Methodical in research, order, prioritization, and implementation
