This role involves ensuring the highest quality standards in gear production and implementing quality control procedures to meet industry specifications and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance & Control:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols specific to gear manufacturing.
    • Conduct inspections and tests on gears to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Analyze and resolve gear-related quality issues in production and field operations.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to identify areas for improvement in gear manufacturing processes.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
    • Use statistical methods and process control tools to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Prepare and maintain detailed reports, documentation, and records of quality inspections and test results.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications related to gear manufacturing.
    • Develop and maintain quality assurance documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and quality control plans.
  • Root Cause Analysis:
    • Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Conduct failure analysis on defective gears and work with the design and production teams to address issues.
  • Training & Development:
    • Train production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and use of quality control tools.
    • Stay updated with advancements in gear technology and quality management practices, and disseminate knowledge to the team.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the gear manufacturing industry.
    • Proficiency in gear technology, including knowledge of different types of gears, gear design, and gear manufacturing processes.
    • Develop, implement and manage ISO9001 and AS9100 compliant quality control systems that promote customer satisfaction, company profitability and growth. Supervise a team of quality control inspectors.
