Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night Shift (7p-7a)

Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience; CVICU experience preferred

License: Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of work, or if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as the primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in the home state.

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have: Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to American Heart Association, RN license, and proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write).

Job Description:

- Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan for the healthcare consumer or situation.
- Develop a plan with strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with applicable legal or policy parameters.
- Evaluate progress toward the attainment of goals and outcomes.
- Practice in a manner congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
- Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Seek knowledge and competence in current nursing practice and promote futuristic thinking.
- Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
- Contribute to quality nursing practice.
- Evaluate personal and others' nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
- Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
- Practice ethically.
- Promote shared governance or facility decision-making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes.

Physical Requirements:

- Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must speak English in clear, understandable terms.
- Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.
- Finger dexterity.
- Critical thinking and ability to concentrate.
- Must respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.

- Holiday work may be required; not approved for specific holidays (e.g., Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day).
