Clinic LPN Float

The Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assumes responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other provider in patient care departments. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the LPN scope of practice as defined by the Indiana Board of Nursing.
This position will float to all of medical offices.
Essential Functions
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Supports and adheres to the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, midlevel provider, or physician. Nursing care is guided by the provider orders and the nursing plan of care within the LPS scope.
Reports patient response to care to registered nurse or other provider for evaluation, intervention, and modification of the plan of care.
Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
Assist the CMA/MA with rooming arrived patients.
Address MyChart messages on Epic.
Address medication refill messages.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Mental: Demonstrates knowledge of the physical and psychosocial needs of the psychiatric population. Must exhibit communication skills, and ability to work with psychiatrists as well as other members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Ability to interpret written and verbal orders by the psychiatrists.
Physical: Occasionally lifts, pushes, and transfers patients. Lifts supplies and large equipment. Manual dexterity and mobility. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Visual acuity for reading thermometers and equipment and for recording in the electronic medical record. Must be able to hear sufficiently to perform routine physical examinations. Must have the capability to drive.
Skills & Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively. Must have the ability to use patient care equipment. Must have ability to work with computers and be familiar with EMR documenting and learning the Family Health Center EMR. The outpatient nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate treatment, care, and services for the clients they will serve.

Education
High School Diploma
Complete vocational training.
Pass of the National Counsil Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN)
Pay Range: $19.25 per hour
