Respiratory therapists are expected to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. The respiratory therapist collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Respiratory therapists at Lake Granbury Medical Center are expected to measure the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Respiratory therapists rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, perform a variety of tasks, and function with a degree of creativity and latitude. They typically report to a manager.

Education:

Associate's degree

Licenses & Certifications:

Texas Respiratory Therapy License in good standing

American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS, ALS, and PALS

NRP is required within 6 months of hire

CPI is preferred
