Fitness & Wellness Specialist

Status: Part-time (20-24 hrs/wk)

Shift: TBD (Tue & Thu - 7am-5pm; or Tue-Thu 8am-4pm)

Location: Englewood, CO

Mission: A Work-Fit Fitness & Wellness Specialist is responsible for supporting current Work-Fit customers to exceed customer expectations by collaborating on the planning, organizing, communicating, developing, delivering, and measuring of Work-Fit services. The Well Being & Fitness Specialists should be the first line of contact for direct onsite Fitness & Well Being Delivery and face to face employee engagement of approximately client employees at designated site. Primary statement of work includes management and day to day operations and support of onsite fitness center, including member services, outreach and equipment instruction and site well being delivery. A successful candidate will care for and strive to improve the overall well-being, quality of life and productivity of client employees and their families.

Reports to: The Fitness & Wellness Specialist will report directly to the Team Leader or Regional Lead associated with their assigned location.

Job Description:

Group Fitness classes to include Thai Chi, Yoga and stretching.

Primary Accountabilities (Deliverables)
  • Plan, oversee, communicate, coordinate and deliver client enterprise Well Being programs, campaigns and events at the site in alignment with company wellness initiatives.
  • Support and grow leadership and employee engagement (e.g. Site communications, Manager outreach, Site events, Employee referrals, Enterprise events).
  • Frequent, high touch support of wellness benefits communication to employees (e.g. delivering group presentations to employees and managers and leading activities that promote the three pillars of overall health: physical, financial, and emotional well-being.)
  • Cross-functional collaboration and ad hoc support of client HR business and project needs, including direct support and contribution to HR and Well Being Delivery operational project and process improvements, as needed.
  • Research, respond to, and resolve inquiries and problems of various complexities referring to established precedents and policies regarding wellness benefit issues and concerns.
  • Establish relationships with key site stakeholders
  • Promote Boeing Well Being (WB) programs following the annual planning calendar.
  • Conduct on-site events and campaigns and support related programs as needed (e.g., flu shots, screening events, Mother's room usage, therapy dog events, on-site 5Ks, blood donation drives, benefits fairs, safety fairs, family day, etc.).
  • Report on program metrics
  • Oversee employee usage of fitness facilities.
  • Oversee and provide group exercise instruction.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory.
  • Monitor facility maintenance and safety and emergency preparation.


Core Skills/Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a Work-Fit/Customer specified health field such as health, wellness, community health, exercise science, health promotion, or related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  2. Professional certification in the specified health field
  3. Maintain CPR/AED certification.
  4. 3 years of professional experience in a specified health field
  5. Experience in delivery of services within fitness center, fitness programming, group fitness instruction, wellness and health promotion campaigns, presentations, events and projects.
  6. Effective written (including proper grammar and spelling) and oral communication skills with individuals as well as group settings.
  7. Ability to manage time to ensure all duties and responsibilities are met on a daily and weekly basis.
  8. Ability to work without direct supervision.
  9. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to conduct on-line research.
  10. Proficient with use of electronic recordkeeping database and client databases (as applicable to each Program).
  11. Comfortable in the delivery of service in various work environments such as manufacturing, warehousing, office, and outdoors.
  12. Maintain a consistent and flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Work-Fit Team and Work-Fit customers.
