ON SITE Position Summary: The System Manager of PACS and Imaging Solutions leads and oversee the strategic and operational management of our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and associated imaging technologies. The PACS environment at Bozeman Health supports various areas, including Radiology, Cardiology, the Cancer Center, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Additionally, the System Manager will manage the integration and performance of dictation applications and numerous other applications, ensuring seamless operations across both the main campus and remote facilities. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, ensure optimal system performance, and support delivering high-quality healthcare services. This role demands a visionary leader with extensive knowledge of medical imaging technology, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and IT teams. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Five (5) years of experience in PACS administration and imaging solutions management Three (3) years supervisory or management experience in IT related field PACS Administration certification ITIL Certification within two years of hire Preferred: Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) Preferred: Project Management Certification Essential Job Functions: In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements. Develop and implement strategic plans for PACS and imaging solutions in alignment with organizational goals. Work on 5-year strategic planning with IT leadership. Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to meet strategic goals and operational needs. Manage procurement processes, including the preparation of quotes, ordering of equipment, and coordination with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective purchasing. Direct and manage complex projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations, from inception to completion. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, employing best practices in project management methodologies. Drive cost optimization and reduce hardware footprint at Bozeman Health by leveraging cloud-based technologies and efficient image maintenance strategies. Oversee the daily operations of PACS and imaging systems, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability. Lead the integration of imaging systems with other hospital information systems, such as EHR and HIS. Implement proactive system monitoring and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance system performance. Optimize workflow efficiency by standardizing imaging protocols and procedures across all departments. Develop and enforce robust security measures to protect patient data and comply with HIPAA regulations. Conduct regular performance evaluations and capacity planning to ensure the system can handle increasing volumes and complexity of imaging data. Streamline image storage and retrieval processes to improve accessibility and reduce latency. Coordinate with clinical staff to tailor imaging solutions to their specific needs, enhancing overall user satisfaction and productivity. Utilize automation tools and machine learning algorithms to enhance image processing and diagnostic accuracy. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service agreements to ensure high-quality support and cost-effective solutions. Establish and enforce policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, DICOM). Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure data integrity, security, and system performance. Other duties as assigned. Use upper body strength (repair and maintenance work, etc.) Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily. Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly. Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies. Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities. Exposures Tasks Include Potential Exposure: Job tasks may involve exposure to: Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed Various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.
