Job Description
We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. This position will be a backfill during the absence of the Hygienists, whether they are on training, travel, continuing education, leave or if we have a vacancy. The Dental Hygienist will assist with the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) initiative and to continue continuity of care and meeting GPRA indicator. Electronic Health Record and Dentrix will be utilized to document visits.

Essential Job Duties
• Basic dental care tasks, mostly focused on keeping patients' teeth and gums clean and healthy working under supervision and management of a licensed dentist.
• Act as a resource or expert in the program area, providing education to patients and technical guidance to less experienced.
• Provide accountability for other employees, which may include instructing and /or training in work methods and practices.
• Applying agency and professional standards to all aspects of dental hygiene treatment rendered.
• Completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Policies and Procedures Manual.
• Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments.
• Selects materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient's oral health status.
• Requires visual capabilities to read charts, forms, and x-rays, to identify dental equipment and materials, and treat patients.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
• 6 months experience working as a Dental Hygienist
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in the profession (e.g. HIPPA)
• Requires frequent light lifting/carrying (under 15 lbs.) and occasional moderate lifting/carrying (15 to 49 lbs.).

Education / Certification
• Licensed Registered Dental Hygienist

Preferred Qualifications
• Phone experience, either in an office, dispatch, or recruiting environment.
• 1 year experience in an administrative / office environment.
