Advent Health Altamonte Labor and Delivery Unit is a premier destination for obstetrical care in Seminole County. We are the only OB hospital in Seminole County and only hospital with the support of a Level II NICU. The Labor and Delivery Unit provides Level II Maternity Care for approximately 2,200 births per year (183 babies per month). The unit consists of 6 OB Triage rooms, 10 labor rooms (including 1 low intervention birthing suite), 3 OB ORs and 4 PACU beds. The adjacent units are a 10 bed Level II NICU and a 26 bed Mother Baby Unit. The multidisciplinary OB team is supported 24/7 by on unit OB Hospitalists, Neonatologists and Anesthesiology. Multidisciplinary huddles are conducted at the beginning of the shift with the team. Nationally recognized as Florida’s only leader for both Women’s and Newborn Care by US News and World Report as Best Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology 2022 and Best Children’s Hospital for Neonatology 2022 Our team can provide both virtual and in person classes and tours with our patients and individualized care with our Birth Experience team. Utilizes the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
