Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of a manager or director and according to established policies and procedures, the Analyst II performs routine analysis to include evaluation of hardware and software based on end user criteria. The Analyst II performs workflow analysis, design, development, testing, training, implementation, management and support of assigned application systems and/or projects. Directly interacts with assigned department managers and senior level staff to provide automation services in support of department's strategic and operational objectives. Maintains system specification and technical documentation. Acts as liaison between Information Technology vendors and TGH. Participates in and/or leads department and hospital task forces, focus groups and/or committees as assigned by their supervisor to meet the group objectives. Employs intermediate analytical and technical evaluative process; managerial and interpersonal perspectives. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Additional Duties Include:

  • Design and maintain complex medication-related workflows and best practices within the EHR.
  • Collaborate with leadership to understand and design system to account for legal and regulatory needs/changes.
  • Analyze and solution business problems and goals to continually improve outcomes, patient experience, gain operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support automation and third party systems within various practice settings (Automated dispensing devices, dispensing robots, infusion pumps, etc.).
  • Lead new/ongoing build for expanding Service Lines (inpatient and outpatient settings).
  • System maintenance across several entities (order sets and care paths, formulary management, shortage management, ongoing system enhancements, decision support, system mappings, cost updates, NDC maintenance).
  • Resolution of break/fix (on call rotation)
Qualifications
  • Highschool or GED and a minimum of 2+ years information technology / applications experience including build, test, and support of job related applications or equivalent healthcare/heath related experience.
  • 2+ years of Clinical informatics experience (preferably in related applications) and strong understanding of medication management in a complex environment (inpatient and ambulatory services).
  • Epic Willow Inpatient certification.
  • Experience leading IT projects and implementations.
  • Must demonstrate the following attributes: analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment, work and learn independently as well as collaboratively in a team, and excellent communication and customer service abilities
