Class A CDL Driver

Job Description

CDL drivers are responsible for driving and delivering structural steel to customers up to 3 hours away using a semi truck and a flatbed trailer. Candidates will be home each night with no overnight stays. Prepare and secure delivery loads, inspect the daily vehicle inspection report, and follow a planned route to the destination. The candidate is also responsible for all safety procedures regarding the vehicle.

Candidates may also expect to interact with customers while dropping off loads, so being customer-facing is important.

Experience tying down loads is very important. The loads they are running are full of very large, heavy, and sharp metal, so ensuring that everything is tied down correctly is crucial. CDL drivers experienced with tying down loads will be very prepared for this position.

Skills

  • Active Class A CDL license

  • Experience using a flatbed trailer

  • Ability to track and log deliveries

  • Ability to safety check all mechanical issues on the semi

Work Environment

Sitting in a semi cab for extended periods of time.

5 AM until the last delivery.

Jeans and a t-shirt.
