The purpose of this position is to ensure a pleasant experience for guests that have booked a birthday party in the recreation facility. This is accomplished by setting up the room for a party, setting out a cake, party favors, tableware, balloons, drinks, and food if needed, greeting guests; assisting guest(s) in serving food, party favors, and other tasks, This position does not provide direction to others.
Essential Functions

  • Provides customer service to clients and guests by greeting them.
  • Prepares room for party by setting out cake, tableware, drinks, balloons and party favors.
  • Assists guests in serving food and various other tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for cleanup and restocking once parties are completed.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Less than High School diploma or equivalent with no prior relevant work experience.
Basic computer and phone skills are required. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Certification and Other Requirements
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years old.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification, or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment

Supplemental Information
Reading Basic - Ability to recognize meaning of common two- or three-syllable words. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Math
Intermediate - Ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Writing
Intermediate - Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Managerial
Receives directions: The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with some discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. Assignment is reviewed upon completion.

Work involves choices of action within limits set by standard practices and procedures. Professional judgment is required to apply the proper course of action. Work may require the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees.
