Essential Functions

- Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner
- Supervising children in the child development program including play periods, meal time, field trips, assemblies, bathroom and emergency drills
- Assisting with developing and creating bulletin boards, signs, borders and classroom displays
- Assisting students with various physical, emotional and educational needs
- Alerting the director/supervisor to any problem or special information about a student
- Maintaining the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
- Working in collaboration with other staff to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
- Keeping educational materials, equipment and the general room environment neat, safe and clean
- Maintaining knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules
- Performing related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner
- Assisting with the supervision of high school interns

Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite software programs and other programs as it relates to position
- Ability to operate most standard office equipment
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates in a school environment.

- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Regularly required to sit, type and focus on a computer screen for long periods of time
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
At Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work, or a minimum number of days or hours.
This is a 12-month, substitute or part-time position. This position is not eligible for medical benefits. Employee will work scheduled hours per day Monday through Friday.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Working with children.
Required Certifications/Licenses
Documentation of current negative TB test.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
