Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Flexible Scheduling: You take control of your schedule and manage your caseload.

Job Overview: The PTA is responsible for delivering direct rehabilitation care in physical therapy to patients in their homes, working under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). This role adheres strictly to all relevant laws, regulations, and the high standards set by Breakthrough Healthcare.

Work Locations:

Chesterfield area, West County St. Louis

Compensation:
  • Sign-On Bonus: $7,000.00
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT).
  • Current registration/licensure in state of MO, with ongoing maintenance of licensure in good standing.
  • Preferably two years of experience in home health care.
  • Current Drivers license with clean record
  • Current CPR Card or ability to obtain in 30 days
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in community health initiatives and projects as needed.
  • Participates in weekly case conferences
  • Under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist perform medical therapy treatments as ordered by Physician
  • Assists in collection of data, coordination and of care, measurements and tests
  • Demonstrates proficiency in managing caseload of patients.
  • Assists in preparing patients for discharge
  • Proficiently documents in real time of EMR
  • Demonstrates competency in EVV
  • Provides teaching, training and education of patients and caregivers
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and various support departments to ensure comprehensive patient care planning.
  • Consistently demonstrate proper body mechanics.
  • Exercise sound judgment and make autonomous decisions when necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of post-acute care facility practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Effectively implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all areas of competency, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, etc.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
  • Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
  • Display integrity and professionalism, abide by the company's Code of Conduct, and complete all required training.
Essential Functions:
  • Accurately follow and administer physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising PT.
  • Timely and precise charting of therapy sessions.
  • Effective use of therapy software for documentation and treatment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive demeanor with patients.
  • Assist in patient evacuation procedures when necessary.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Focus and apply reasoning skills and sound judgment.
  • Communicate effectively and contribute to the interdisciplinary team's productivity.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during work hours.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem, PRN

Pay: Up to $74,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
