Job Description:

Overall responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting staff physician(s) on duty with patient care as needed.
  • Performing all diagnostic digital x-rays.
  • Ensuring that the x-ray equipment is operationally maintained.
  • Assisting with selecting and patient fitting of durable medical equipment (DME).
  • Performing patient triage, as needed, by taking vital signs of newly registered patients.
  • Maintaining efficient and organized patient flow.
  • Completing all chart and medical records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Tracking and re-stocking all necessary x-ray supplies.
  • Discharging patients with detailed instructions as required.
  • Ensuring x-ray room and exam rooms are cleaned following each patient visit.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the work areas at all times.
  • Adhering to all practice policies and procedures.
  • Meet patient needs through a variety of methods including but not limited to
    a. Answer incoming phone calls and make outbound phone calls
    b. Gathering information to route appropriately.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars.
  • Coordinate Lab and Prep instructions for scheduled appointments.
  • Update and verify primary care and referring providers.
  • Evaluate referrals and link to appropriate upcoming appointments.
  • Verify and update patient demographics.
  • File and maintain records.
  • Transmit information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.
  • Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Forward Attorney Medical Records Requests to Executive Assistant/Compliance.
  • Serve as resource person and provide information to patient scheduling staff and patients regarding insurance.
  • Verify visit account and insurance information and transfer to billing if updates are needed.
  • Collect copays, pre-payments, and outstanding balances.
  • Manage visit prior authorization and referral requirements.
Education/Experience
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology (Computer Tomography also preferred)
  • ARRT certified in Radiologic Technology
  • Orthopedic experience preferred
  • 1-2 years relevant experience
  • BLS certification
