Job Short Description:

Jira Align Agile Coach helping to administer and onboard new Portfolios to Jira Align as the Enterprise Agile Planning Tool for scaling agile practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Jira Align Administrator and Atlassian Consultants during the Enterprise implementation of Jira Align for the product portfolios.
  • Assist with requirements gathering, setup of roadmaps, dependencies, configuration, reporting and other aspects of Jira Align implementation as per the SAFe best practices.
  • Lead Jira Align training for end users and executives.
    • Work with Atlassian and team to conduct best in class training content as per different roles.
    • Help Portfolios and ARTs to configure Jira Align based on SAFe concepts like Lean Portfolio Management, PI Planning, roadmaps, dependencies, and metrics.
  • Curation of training materials tailored to SAFe for each portfolio end user personas and create training content when necessary.
  • Support the Jira Align Administrator with admin and training functions.
  • Onboard additional SAFe portfolios by configuring ART roadmaps, teams, dependencies, etc. and provide ongoing training.
  • Ability to proactively seek out, collaborate and establish relationships with critical partners to ensure their portfolios are up and running and integrated with the right set of practices.
  • Help the product portfolios to conduct an initial assessment of the portfolio's agile maturity, Lean Portfolio Management practices and other necessary capabilities to determine their readiness for Jira Align adoption.
  • Support the product portfolios to create an action plan to improve and/or mitigate any identified gaps in their readiness for Jira Align adoption.
  • Helps identify/execute change management and communication strategies and tactics to drive the successful adoption of Jira Align within the Enterprise.
  • Represent the Agility Enablement Hub Tooling Team in various Enterprise Forums
  • Support ongoing process development and improvement.
  • Help teams through the change curve using an Agile Mindset and coaching mindset to ensure we set teams up for long term success.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or business.
  • Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills.
  • 3+ years of Agile coaching experience.
  • At least 2+ years of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience as a coach with experience implementing Lean Portfolio Management Practices.
  • 2+ years administering Jira Align for SAFe teams and portfolios. (Not only as the end user, but as the Jira Align admin)
    • Strong knowledge of administering Jira Align.
    • Detailed understanding of how to configure, administer and support Jira Align and Microsoft Azure DevOps.
    • Experience gathering requirements and configuring Jira Align for Lean Portfolios with multiple SAFe ARTs.
    • Strong experience and understanding of setting up Portfolios and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in Jira Align using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) best practices.
  • Scaled Agile framework (SAFe) certified, preferably SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC).
  • Experience and knowledge of applications such as Jira Align and Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent documentation skills for SAFe-tailored training materials.
  • Comfortable in presenting complex ideas to end users and executives.
