Clinic Biller/Coder

Job Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Clinic Biller/Coder for the Home Care Medicine Department.

Reviews all charges and corrects any errors to ensure bills go out correctly. Checks professional coding on all charges prior to insurance billing and directs any issues or questions back to the appropriate clinical staff. Ensures that rejected claims are corrected and properly re-submitted to payer in a timely fashion. Also assists with obtaining prior authorizations for treatment.

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certified coder is preferred

Experience:

• 1 to 2 years of position related experience is preferred

The kind of position-related experience includes:

The incumbent must be a high school graduate or the equivalent. One year of physician practice billing/coding experience preferred. Must be proficient in using personal computers in a Windows network environment and possess a typing speed of 45 wpm. The incumbent must have a thorough understanding of healthcare insurance, government regulations, and the ability to read and interpret ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS Coding Terminology
