Key Responsibilities:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in fabricating, assembling and installing piping and equipment for industrial process piping, steam, hydronic heating, cooling, and condenser water systems. Oversee multiple projects Determine the appropriate material and manpower requirements to ensure a good rate of production and efficiency.
  • Attends job meetings.
  • Coordinate with department manager for manpower, tools, rental equipment and material deliveries.
  • Enforce ensure company policies and safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Utilize experience to help guide Foremen ensuring safe work practices and rate of productivity are kept.
  • Coordinate with job with other trades to avoid conflicts.
  • Differentiate between contract work and work that would be considered in addition to the contract.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications and relay information to Foreman and work crew to produce a finished product.
  • Communicate with Foreman and work crew on what is expected of them and ensure that instructions are understood.
  • Ensure that proper work quality is achieved and instill pride in subordinates for work quality.
  • Ensure Foreman understands the need for timecards have proper labor codes.
  • Consult with foremen and department manager regarding input on hiring or dismissing workers.
  • Evaluate production and quality of work on assigned projects.
  • Interpret submittals and job orders as needed for project.
  • Assemble procurement orders for materials, equipment and tools required at each project commencement.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
  • Evaluate Foreman and workers abilities and use expertise to ensure the most productive job placement on a day to day basis.
  • Conduct 90-Day and Annual Performance Appraisals of assigned Foremen.
  • Partner with assigned Foremen to ensure Performance Appraisal meet specific jobsite criteria and evaluation is true to performance standards and expectations.
  • Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • Review and ensure accurate time records.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems. When necessary, make cost estimates for contracts.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Must complete spec work for fittings, fans, dampers and air distribution.
Qualifications
  • A Minimum of eight (8) years of field experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years experience in a Foreman trade level role.
  • GED or High School Graduate Preferred.
  • Understand shop math.
  • Work skillfully with tools, metals and machines.
  • Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches or blueprints.
  • Work within precise limits and standards.
  • Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
  • Rate information using measurable standards.
  • Understand English and follow and provide directives to assigned helpers..
  • Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly with professional standard grammar.
  • Must use hands, fingers, arms, and legs fully; kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift and stoop.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
