Develops long-range strategic plans for assigned product or services, and manages the development of annual marketing and business plans at the Sector level. Directs the activities of Brand Managers, internal resources and outside advertising agencies in order to meet stated business plans.

As the Vice President of Product Management and Strategic Marketing at Marmon Utility, you will be at the forefront of developing and executing marketing and product management strategies. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the go-to-market approach, focusing on driving growth through innovative product development and introduction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead, coach, and oversee the Marketing and Product Management functions, with the aim of driving business growth and surpassing objectives.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and strategy, fostering a positive and performance-driven environment.
  • Develop comprehensive growth strategies, outlining both long-term (5-year) plans and annual operating plans.
  • Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.
  • Devise and execute integrated marketing plans to enhance brand awareness and stimulate demand for our solutions, emphasizing the value propositions of our primary brands, Hendrix & Kerite.
  • Conduct research to garner insights on products, customers, and markets, identifying avenues for company growth and leveraging company capabilities for competitive advantage.
  • Define market segmentation, selection, and positioning of offerings within target segments.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, QA, and upper management to drive innovation and develop new offerings.
  • Manage pricing strategies to ensure profitability. Implement value-based pricing, price setting and management, and pricing performance metrics. Collaborate with sales and marketing to ensure alignment and flowless execution.
  • Facilitate sales efforts through the development of key account business plans, identifying needs and devising winning strategies for key accounts.
  • Support superior customer experience by coordinating and managing customer project needs and expectations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS

WHO YOU ARE
  • You have a four-year college degree from an accredited institution; master's in business administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • You have 10-15 years experience in strategic marketing, product management, business planning or related management role.
  • You have experience leading pricing strategy and execution.
  • You have demonstrated experience in all aspects of integrated marketing including promotion, advertising, content development and event execution.
  • You have experience with product management and new product development.
  • You are a proven leader with a track record of building high performance teams. You are collaborative and have experience with key cross-functional stakeholders in engineering and manufacturing.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • You are willing to travel to engage with employees and customers. You are able to travel up to 50% of the time and occasionally take extended trips that could include weekends.
  • You have a high Level of financial and business acumen.
  • You display executive presence to influence senior decision makers.
  • You have exposure to the Utility industry; technical knowledge of electrical utilities, distribution systems, products, etc. is a plus.
  • You have excellent analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Office Position, must be capable of sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Travel may require ground or air vehicle usage.
  • Offices are located in Seymour CT or Milford NH, but the role can be "remote" for the right candidate.
