POSITION SUMMARY:

The Live Receiving Worker will rotate within the department, performing tasks such as live hanging, crate management, forklift operation, and assisting with the finishing machine.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Properly places the legs of live chickens into shackles to meet line speed requirements set by company standards
  • Inserts drawers maintaining required speeds
  • Loads and unloads crates from shuttle trucks efficiently
  • Keeps the area tidy by picking up loose chickens from the floor
  • Reports any equipment damage or potential mechanical issues to leadership immediately
  • Completes additional duties as assigned

  • Acts as a trainer to others, sharing skills and knowledge acquired in the role
  • Adheres to all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies while fostering a positive work atmosphere
  • Recognizes and acts on safety incidents and risks, consistently practicing safe work habits
  • Contributes to process improvement and problem-solving using rational thinking methodologies
  • Follows all company animal welfare guidelines
  • Completes other duties as directed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to stand and use hands for 8 to 10 hour shifts
  • Ability to apply common sense and understand basic instructions
  • Effective communication skills
  • Able to adapt to a changing environment
  • Highly observant and responsive
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Forklift operation experience preferred
