Job Description

The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Water/Wastewater Senior Engineer/Project Manager for our West Palm Beach or Jacksonville offices in Florida. The ideal candidate will have experience with the design of municipal conveyance, pumping system, and water/wastewater treatment plant projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as lead engineer and/or project manager on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects including water pipelines, sewage collection systems, pump stations, storage tanks, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, etc.
  • Leading the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and other project documents.
  • Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Identifies new business opportunities for AECOM, coordinates and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promotes AECOM’s capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients.
  • Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
  • May supervise technical professionals, associate project managers, and design staff including workload and staffing management.
  • Assisting with marketing needs within the region.
  • Participating in professional societies relevant to the industry.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working on municipal projects.
  • 3+ years of Project Management Experience.
  • Experience and familiarity with the following programs: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation, SWMM, and/or Storm/Sewer/WaterCAD.
  • Experience working with local clients in Florida.
  • Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.
