REGISTERED NURSE for PAT/PRE-OP/PACU

Physicians Surgical Network Affiliates, are looking for full-time nurses to join our team in Fort Worth. PSN Affiliates, manages surgery centers throughout Texas and is looking for talented nurses to partner with to give superior patient care. Our Fort Worth location is a surgical center focusing on adult care.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • BLS and ACLS required for Fort Worth Location
  • Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
  • 2-3 Years Experience as a PACU/PAT RN
  • Cognitive skills as related to the position

Position Summary

This position handles inbound pre-operative patients to ensure patients receive quality pre-operative screening for our surgical procedures and Post anesthetic care patients emerging from the haze of anesthesia. There are a number of tasks a PACU nurse needs to perform in a post-operative unit such as guiding patients to consciousness and assisting them in handling personal needs in the first few hours after surgery.

Position Responsibilities

Pre-admissions Testing Nurse Duties:

  • Completes required orientation as directed by facility 
  • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Follows facility Unusual Occurrence Protocol
  • Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
  • Upholds HIPAA regulations
  • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts

Preoperative Duties of PACU Nurse:
 

· Manage patients’ admission processes to preoperative department in a hospital

· Assess the status of patients’ health in pre-op and ensure accuracy of identification wristband

· Ensure that operative and informed consents are in order

· Determine the surgeon and procedure being carried out

· Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure

· Initiate IVs and ensure that patients are informed about the procedure and attending medical staff
