Job Summary:
This role supports the repair station by receiving, disassembling, and shipping bearings daily. It also initiates the repair process by entering bearing information into the computer using Microsoft Excel. This is a first shift position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives incoming bearings from loading dock.
- Compares incoming items to paperwork to ensure part numbers and serial numbers match paperwork.
- Inspects all boxes and parts for incoming damage.
- Disassembles bearings for the repair process.
- Verifies serial numbers and part numbers match incoming Purchase Orders.
- Enters information into receiving spreadsheet and prepares incoming paperwork for Customer Service.
- Cleans bearing components for the inspection process.
- Processes bearing components through the wash/wrap room for shipment.
- Packages bearing components for shipment to customers.
- Ships bearings to customer using customer predefined shipping information.
- Receives all chemicals from dock.
- Operates forklift and lift carts.
- Follows all plant safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to details.
- Capable of using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read/write/speak English.
- Ability to work independently in a high stress environment.
- Candidates must pass a near vision eye test to Jaeger 1 and a color perception test.
- Candidate must be able to obtain a Hazardous Materials Certification.
- Candidate must be able to use calipers and micrometers to measure dimensions as required.
- Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Physical Demands:
- Able to move/lift up to 65lbs without assistance
- Able to move/lift 66lbs and up with the use of a pallet jack, workstation crane, and lift cart on a regular basis
- Works in a controlled climate, with occasional outdoor work required
- Small amounts of machine noise
- Works around hazardous chemicals
- PPE required
- Able to move/lift up to 65lbs without assistance
