Intake Screener

The Intake Screener serves as a patient advocate and allows access to life changing care for members of the community. Intake Screener work within a collaborative team including physicians, providers, other intake specialists and many other members of a multidisciplinary team.
The Intake Screener gains career experience to develop and progress with a nationally recognized behavioral health leader.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Accomplish the following pre-admission steps:
- Evaluate incoming inquiries to determine and explain the next step to accessing care at Rogers.
- Complete Admission assessments with potential patients and/or their representatives.
- Demonstrate understanding and explanation of admitting processes.
- Understand clinical criteria necessary for admission to Rogers' programs.
- Describe levels of care within Rogers to potential patients and/or their representatives.
- Gather demographic and insurance information of potential patients and/or responsible representatives.
- Understand how to utilize and explain Rogers' contracted payor listing.
2. Complete all documentation steps for each inquiry and assessment.
- Ensure all inquiries are entered in the designated system and all necessary information is captured.
- Ensure referral source information is obtained and entered for each inquiry.
- Ensure all clinical information is entered accurately into admission assessment tool.
3. Adhere to department standards as it relates to performance measures.
- Ensure quality of call meets department standards.
- Ensure productivity meets department standards.
4. Connect potential patients and/or their representative with outside resources when indicated.
5. Collaborate with internal departments and external facilities/referents as it relates access to care.
6. Participate in the On-Call, weekend, and holiday schedule, as assigned.
7. Complete other duties as assigned by Admissions leadership.
8. Understand and apply policies and procedures in accordance with external regulatory agencies:
- Including, but not limited to: Joint Commission, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA), 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and other regulatory agency compliance regulations.
- Attend and participate in development opportunities to increase involvement and awareness of regulations.
9. Promote department goals and Mission of Rogers Behavioral Health:
- Comply with Rogers culture agreements and all Hospital's policies and procedures.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday
- Day Shift: 10am-6pm
- 40 hours a week | 1.0 FTE
- Participation in Rotation for on-call, weekend and holidays
Location
- Positions available for Oconomowoc, WI and Schaumburg, IL offices
Additional Job Description:
Education/Training Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor's degree preferred (in human services related field)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a health care setting strongly preferred
- Customer service experience required.
