Required Certifications:
  • Missouri IV Certified must appear on Nursys and included with the submittal packet
  • OR - Official IV Certificate AND Transcript showing curriculum from certifying school for facility review. Please ask if any questions.
  • BLS Certification - AHA
Experience:
  • One Year Plus Acute Care experience preferred

JOB SUMMARY:
The Facility is seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN to join our Medical Surgical Unit specializing in Neurosurgery. The unit focuses on the care of patients with stroke, seizures, MS, back/head/spinal, and other neurological diagnoses or neurosurgery procedures. As an LPN, you will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care and maintain professional accountability for the assigned patients. You will collaborate with the RN and other departments to coordinate patient care and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Involve patients and/or significant others in decisions regarding care
  • Assist the RN in admission and discharge processes
  • Perform patient assessments as indicated by the patient's condition or as directed by the RN
  • Perform patient handoffs utilizing patient safety tools
  • Facilitate communication of pertinent findings, including significant changes in patient condition, to the RN in a timely manner
  • Maintain effective communication through appropriate utilization of the chain of command
  • Collaborate with the RN to evaluate patient response to care and determine progress toward achievement of outcomes
  • Reinforce and document the educational needs and learning abilities of the patient and/or significant others during the admission and subsequent assessments in the computerized care plan
  • Prioritize care delivery according to the patients' needs and unit activities
  • Delegate, guide, and direct UAP's in tasks and be responsible for the care provided according to their documented competencies
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Comparable education, experience, and successful licensure will be considered
  • Current LPN license (MO State or Multi-State Compact)
  • One year of experience
  • Missouri IV Certification is required
  • BLS Certification - AHA
RATE:
  • Gross Pay: $2300-$2500 per week
