Job Title: Mechanical Test Engineer Job Location-COLUMBUS, OHIO Job Description We are hiring for a Test Engineer focused on automotive frame, suspension, and chassis testing. This position will be primarily focused on testing complete vehicle durability, physical/structural testing, and fixture testing durability. You will be in charge of delivering full vehicle computational and testing results for body and/or chassis systems with available guidance as you continue to expand your technical knowledge and deepen your expertise in automotive development. Responsibilities Produce and analyze engineering data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats independently. Plan, prepare, and coordinate various aspects of exterior performance tests including arrangement of facilities, requesting technician support, and acquiring testing materials. Physically support tests including confirmation that test setups are correct and that test plans are understood and executed to intent. Prepare moderately complex documentation for review by technical leadership to record and submit all necessary development/testing/research information per the determined schedule. Help coordinate and execute root cause analysis, countermeasure activities, and improvement initiatives to technical leadership. Essential Skills Experience with CAE, BAJA, Formula SAE, and automotive testing. Knowledge of automotive body and reliability testing. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Co-Op testing experience or experience with BAJA or Formula SAE. Automotive experience/knowledge. Proficiency in CATIA or SolidWorks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with data acquisition software. Work Environment You will work at an Automotive R/D Test Center. This role offers long-term opportunities and the potential for conversion to a permanent position.
