Purchasing Agent

The primary role of the Purchasing Agent is to purchase equipment, materials, supplies, and services by developing, soliciting, analyzing, and negotiating with suppliers. This position will also coordinate activities with other departments to assure proper delivery, quality, reliability, and low-cost consistency while assisting in the development of strategies and solutions to continuously improve inventory levels, cost levels, supply sources, and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITILIES

• Evaluate suppliers and maintain approved supplier list
• Negotiate contract terms, including price and delivery of goods and services
• Track and ensure timely delivery of orders
• Maintain updated records of purchases, deliveries, and invoices
• Establish, maintain and monitor stock levels and place orders as necessary
• Coordinate with various stakeholders as needed
• Create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers
• Resolve conflicts with delivery schedules, product defects, and parts inventory levels
• Track and report on supplier and vendor performance, as well as cost saving measures reached
• All other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field with emphasis in supply chain management, and 3+ years' experience in a relevant purchasing, buying, or material control function
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities
• Good knowledge of market research and solid analytical skills
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Teams
• Advanced expertise with Excel
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks, meeting deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and a proven team player
