Position Summary

The Order Processing & Fulfillment Technician at Empower Pharmacy is a vital role that ensures the seamless and accurate processing of orders, directly supporting our commitment to people, service, quality, and innovation. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and ensuring that every order is fulfilled with precision and efficiency. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be key in delivering high-quality medications to our customers, helping us achieve our mission of providing innovative, affordable healthcare solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and reviewing incoming orders, entering details into our system with precision, and ensuring that all orders are fulfilled accurately. You will assist in the bulk fulfillment of office use orders, performing all necessary duties including typing orders and dispensing products. Your role will also involve maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and performing routine quality checks to ensure that products and packaging meet our stringent standards. Any discrepancies or quality issues will be promptly reported to ensure continuous improvement in our processes.

Collaboration and communication are central to this role. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service throughout the order fulfillment process. Your ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices will contribute to the ongoing efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines, safeguarding the integrity of our products and the trust of our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives and reviews incoming orders for accuracy and completeness. Enters order details into the system with precision and efficiency.
  • Assists in preparing and owning the fulfilment of office use orders in bulk.
  • Performs all office use duties, accurately types orders, and dispenses products.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supplies are available for order fulfillment.
  • Performs routine quality checks to verify the accuracy and integrity of products and packaging materials.
  • Reports any discrepancies or quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adheres to all applicable regulations and guidelines governing the handling, storage, and dispensing of pharmaceutical products, including but not limited to HIPAA and FDA regulations.
  • Communicates with internal stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service throughout the order fulfillment process.
  • Identifies opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the order processing and fulfillment workflow. Collaborate with team members to implement improvements and best practices.
  • Reads, understands, and actions prescriber orders for office use medications.
  • Labels boxes with ordered medications.
  • Checks stock to determine inventory levels; anticipates needed products and supplies; places and expedites orders; removes outdated products; puts away products throughout the day in an orderly manner to assure area is organized.
  • Maintains production standards and levels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the campus. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to lift to 30 pounds.

  • Proficient in data entry and computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), including experience with order processing software and inventory management systems.

Experience and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in packaging or dispensing required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Registered with the Texas Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or obtain a Pharmacy Technician Trainee license in the interim, preferred.
